Course Description

The Siebel Open UI Masterclass is a comprehensive, two-part curriculum which provides students with a solid, hands-on understanding of Siebel Open UI, with a focus on project readiness and modern coding principles. Using real-world examples, students learn how to configure and customize the browser-side elements of the Siebel User Interface in current releases of Siebel CRM (IP 17 and higher).

In the first part, you will gain a solid understanding of the Siebel Open UI Framework, including the browser-side and server-side architecture, the Open UI Manifest and the concepts of creating custom extensions of Physical Renderers and Presentation Models. You will also be introduced to concepts such as Plug-in Wrappers, custom style sheets and themes and learn how to use event listeners, user properties and business services with Siebel Open UI.

In the second part, you will build upon your existing Siebel Open UI knowledge and learn how to produce high-quality, reusable, translatable code modules for your Open UI extensions. You will be introduced to concepts such as integrating third-party libraries for custom data visualization, use browser-side or server-side storage, create custom Web Templates and expand the user experience by integrating external web content. The course also introduces you to Siebel Mobile Applications and the principles of using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React or shoelace to craft a superior user experience.

Course appendices introduce you to the Data Visualization Component framework (available with Siebel 22.5 and higher), Redwood Theme (introduced with Siebel 24.6) and modern ECMAScript principles.

The course also covers the Web Component Framework for OJET and other frontend libraries which was is available with Siebel 26.1 and higher.
